Increasingly popular with engagement rings, White Gold is made by mixing pure gold with a white metal, such as Platinum, Silver or Palladium. Silver and Palladium are the most common metals mixed with pure gold to produce White Gold. White Gold is often coated with the Platinum-family metal, Rhodium to enhance the bright, white lustre. Over time this may need to be recoated to regain the original effect but should last for years.
