Overview

This is a senior leadership role reporting directly into the CEO and founder Vashi Dominguez.  Dynamic, creative and entrepreneurial, the Omnichannel Director is responsible for the trading of the VASHI business both on and offline and ensuring a seamless relationship between the two. 

VASHI is a disruptive fine jewellery service built on a simple human truth: something you made is more valuable than something you bought.  Our Co-Creation USP puts customers at the heart of their own product. With access to a rarely seen design and making process, designers and alchemists work together with each customer to guide and inspire every VASHI piece. Customers can pull up a chair to customise their design, personalise with an engraving, choose a treasured stone, or design completely from scratch.  Our unique business model means a unique approach to both bricks and mortar trading and ecommerce.

You’ll be expected to deliver revenue growth, increase conversion and be the voice of commerce within the business. You will also be confident with web analytics, data and interpretation of analysis and continuously look for innovative ways to grow the VASHI business. You will be responsible for the delivery of the sales & margin plans and will work closely with the senior team including: Retail Experience Director to drive offline trade, the Chief Brand Officer to drive online trade and the CX Director to ensure the customer journey is optimised to achieve commercial objectives across an omnichannel experience.

As an experienced trading expert you will understand the value of pace & agility - to deliver improvements, growth & change.  A strong commercial background is essential to be successful in this role, you will have the ability to mix

brand appropriate, best-in-class experiences with defined commercial deliverables.                                                               

International expansion is a key focus area for the business and you will have had relevant market/territory/customer experience from non-UK markets and be adept at delivering digital go-to-market strategies on time and on budget.

Role and Responsibilities

  • Budgeting/forecasting, working with Finance, and validating assumptions through benchmarking KPI’s and performance results on yearly, monthly, weekly basis           

  • Competitive analysis of best-in-class in terms of retail and e-commerce trends, web functionality, customer experience and jewellery trends                       

  • In partnership with Retail Experience Director and CX Director, create and manage an omni-channel customer experience that drives overall sales and customer LTV

  • Merchandise the stores and website to balance brand-building and global story-telling with trade/commercial requirements                                    

  • Report, analyse and provide insights on key data to the entire business

  • Define and deliver the International trading strategy to grow existing and new markets

  • Collaborate with Merchandising to plan and optimise stock to deliver sales & margin budget        

  • Collaborate with CX Director to ensure Digital Marketing strategy is aligned t0 deliver forecasted sales & margin              

  • Collaborate with the Content and Editorial team to brief on-site content & assets in-line with the digital Trading Plan                                                      

  • Partner with the Brand Team and Product team to identify seasonal heroes and themes as well as core continuity sales drivers 

  • Continually review site and store performance using relevant reporting to identify and implement opportunities to deliver commercial targets.

Skills and experience

  • 8+ years Proven hands-on experience of running a trading function and ecommerce website       

  • Strong technical understanding of how both retail and ecommerce websites operate and function

  • Great analytical and numerical skills with meticulous attention to detail              

  • Good experience of physical and web analytics tools to interrogate KPI's including traffic, conversion, and AOV and the ability to offer well-presented insights based on findings                                               

  • Expertise in sales & margin forecasting and trading with a strong customer and commercial awareness

  • Experience managing agencies  

  • Ability to contribute at a senior management level and lead meetings with confidence.
