Retail Operations Manager


The ideal candidate will be an existing Retail Operations Manager, or a Senior Store Manager with a keen interest in retail operations and the ability to communicate well at all levels. You will be highly organised, accurate and confident in all aspects of luxury retail including launching promotions and visual merchandising guidelines, budgeting, recruitment and training.  More importantly you will be able to demonstrate positive growth and change, and with a practical, organised, efficient, self-motivated, solution-oriented persona with strong ability to react to change.

Role and Responsibilities

  • This role will be the central point of contact for stores providing a consistently high level of service that supports day-to-day retail operations delivery

  • Provision of effective and engaging two-way communications to all stores to ensure customer experience is always delivered to the best standard possible

  • To coach, mentor and work with the store managers and commercial team to ensure accurate forecasts are provided and maintained as per the specified guidelines 

  • Produce and update operational guidance on procedures such as store policy, promotional guidance and Retail manuals 

  • Investigate trading feedback issues/ end of day discrepancies, checking information and ensuring all operational issues are investigated and solutions implemented 

  • Accountable for all Head Office to store communications. Write and implement all store manuals, policies and procedures

  • Lead weekly trading meetings at all retail stores to set KPIs and measure deliveries and relevant actions

  • Working with the marketing teams, ensure new product launches in stores are executed within the agreed timeframes

  • Ensure all stores have stock of key customer-facing assets such as bags, wrapping paper, boxes, beverages, flowers etc

  • Be responsible for achieving the highest standards of visual merchandising and store presentation in line with pre-determined company initiatives whilst setting and maintaining the highest housekeeping standards

  • To review and improve current stock management systems and processes, and ensure store teams adhere to the operating procedures of the store or concession 

  • Support in the induction and training of new Managers to the business 

  • Manage store sundries budgets 

  • Pro-active monitoring and reporting of stock/ Stock audit preparations at the stores and conduct audit investigations 

  • Managing the maintenance of store furniture, fixtures and fittings, store security systems etc

  • Managing the store infrastructure (IT, Hardware, Tills etc). Ensure POS systems and concession till systems are up to date with relevant product, price, promotions, stock 

  • To be a VASHI brand ambassador setting an example for their team and colleagues 

  • Work with HR and Training to ensure your team and Retail stores are adhering to the highest company standards and policies

  • To develop train, coach and mentor Retail Managers with the HR team

  • To build relationships with internal and external stakeholders, business networks and partners, the store teams and customers

  • Set, communicate, monitor and achieve the highest standards of customer care

  • Overall responsibility for the store recruitment and store payroll as per company standard

  • Ensure that all staff adhere to policies and procedures in respect of Health & Safety and security within the store

  • Actively manage all direct expense budgets

  • To work with Operations Director and Retail Experience Director in outlining the overall Retail Business Strategy 

  • Ensure that the company property and stock is secure and implement full security checks to ensure that company procedures and processes are being carried out

  • Any other ad hoc duties related to store management and Retail operations
