Job Title
UX/UI Designer

Overview

This role sits within the VASHI brand team and will play a crucial part in the design and ongoing optimisation of VASHI.com.  Working between the brand team, tech team and external web SI it will enable a cost effective relationship and fast communication. VASHI is uniquely built around the idea of Co-Creation, placing the customer at the heart not just of the design but also the making process.  With a workshop in every physical store, every piece is made unique by the customer.  Whether you’re simply selecting the stones that best speak to you, personalising one of our existing designs or creating something truly bespoke, you can be sure that no one else will have one like it.  The business is undergoing a complete replatforming and front end redesign to deliver a digital flagship that is befitting of our physical experience.

UX/UI design is one of the most important aspects of building a mobile optimised website, it creates a seamless connection between a mobile device and the products and services of VASHI. This role therefore requires an experienced candidate with a demonstrable track record of delivering similar projects and genuine interest and understanding of emerging UX/UI trends.

The right candidate needs to be proactive and confident working at all levels of our business, including close liaison with the marketing & tech teams. When relevant, the designer should be prepared to attend management meetings to present work and provide a justification for recommendations if challenged.  We are looking for a self-starter, someone who can manage our expectations as much as we manage the brief and requirements. We seek someone who is adept at working collaboratively to help get the best results.

Culture

The opportunity to be part of building both the VASHI brand and the VASHI culture from the ground up is an extraordinary one and with it comes great responsibility. The foundations of a unique business model are well established and there is nothing to stop us from creating something iconic both privately and publicly. Skills and experience are important but even more so is a hunger to be part of the journey and to input into the collective whole. In building this culture, passion trumps talent and talent trumps experience - finding the right people with the right attitude, the right character and a desire to cut the BS, work hard, be nice and fight for each other will be the difference between success and failure.
